Today was a rest day for me in anticipation of the next four days off duty. But a rest day for me usually consists of some kind of sport or active rest. Today’s was a visit to Globogym to perform the CrossFit warm-up (4 rounds) and look around to monitor the growth that normally occurs this time of year.
The exciting thing I did not report after last night’s TKD class is the budding business venture Master Nyls at Northwest Martial Arts and I are exploring. We have decided to try a pilot program that is essentially an added level of his current UBC component called UBC Extreme. The program will add 3 days per week of CrossFit style workouts to the existing program aimed at taking those that have finished the 10 week course and providing an new level of challenge. This pilot experiment will last five weeks and will be attended by a small group of 4.
I am excited about the potential this program has to add a dimension not currently available in the UBC curriculum and the anticipated fitness gains it has the potential to provide.
