The on ramp was rockin last night. We added Mike and Ian for a total of 8, Mishon where are you? For some it was the first time with a barbell in their hands-learning deadlifts. All did well and tonight will fun too!
Other boxes in the area are announcing some pretty cool stuff going on. CF Initiative in Reno has lots of new programs and now will be publishing a newsletter. CF South Tahoe is having a nutrition seminar this weekend and is adding a climbing wall-pretty cool.
On the homefront, I am offering up CFCV as a hosting site for OPT’s Big Dawg challenge. The next event will be held on Jan 16th. You can get more info here. I’d like to see as many CFCV athletes participate as possible. There will be a link added to our website and blog shortly.
We will also be doing another Olympic Lifting “meet” at CFCV on Jan. 29th. Folks from other gyms have expressed possible interest so I will send them an invitation. Again this is not an official event nor is it sanctioned by anybody, just a for fun gig.
SPeaking of OPT, Penny and I are heading to CrossFit Invictus for the Assessment module of the CCP. Should be quite an experience to say the least. While we’re gone the girls will be running the show including two on-ramp sessions. I know the box is in good hands….
The numbers are now complete for the final benchmark workout of the challenge. I will be posting them as soon as I get them entered into a spreadsheet. Congrats to all, there were some impressive improvements made in reps over the past 8 weeks.
A pretty informative video on CrossFit:
