Another strongman workout headed at you for tomorrow. Remember that just because we don't use the tires, atlas stones and the like doesn't mean it's not strongman related. Certainly squatting heavy, deadlifting heavy and other heavy lifts are considered as strongman workouts. The theme is gaining strength and in our frame of fitness it is usable strength.
I'm sure you've all heard that the CrossFit Games are being held in SoCal this weekend. You can view the action on ESPN3. The Games have come a long way since the Aromas days which is good for CrossFit.
The Hooverball tourney is still on for Saturday morning at Aspen Park. I hope that at least 10 people show or we won't have enough to play. In that case maybe we'll go paddle instead? Please let me know if you plan on attending.
As you all have noticed we are in the middle of the summer season and the gym gets pretty damn hot. I try to cycle the cool air in the morning and keep the doors and windows closed during the day to keep it as cool as possible. I realize it's hot but it won't last long so hang in there.
Shelby finished her on ramp and John and Kyle will be finishing theirs early next week. We have another new couple in Jay and Eileen that I think will be starting their on ramp next week as well. And there are a couple of bootcampers that are threatening to come over at the beginning of August.
Unfortunately we have had a few move on as well. Robert has relocated to the bay area. I sincerely hope that the others find what they're looking for.
