One of the great things in life is getting off shift and being able to come home or in some cases go to the gym and perform a truly challenging workout. Today was one of those days as Denny met me at CFCV and we worked our way through the Kettlebell workout Firepower. I mentioned the workout last week when Roby and I gave it a shot and even provided a link for the trailer on the AOS site. Not only is this a kick butt workout but it effectively replicates fireground task level movements.
I had an opportunity to talk with a CFCV member Rob this evening at Northwest Martial Arts. He reports that he has been doing CrossFit main page workouts for the past week and a half or so at Globogym. I believe he said most have been as rx’d–congrats Rob.
I understand that attracting clients to work out in a garage gym is a hard sell and think I have a pretty good grasp on the reasons why. I can assure everyone that nobody wants to grow this enterprise more than I and as committed as I am, I am not willing to hock all that I have worked for only to lose it all. I believe this structure will work as this is the starting point for many successful CrossFit affiliates (garage gym) and there’s no reason it can’t work here. If it is not successful so be it, but my vision is to be the best trainer I can be and the rest will work itself out. With that said, I am hoping that the UBC Extreme pilot program gives an insight to CrossFit for potential new comers to the CF community.
