Today marked the first session of what we are calling UBC Extreme at Northwest Martial Arts. This pilot program will last 5 weeks and meet twice a week at the Dochang in Gardnerville. Although it is based on the CrossFit methodology and using CrossFit exercises and some of the benchmark workouts, we are calling it UBC Extreme as the participants are adding this element to their overall UBC curriculum. I am hopeful that this pilot will be the beginning of a new program available to the UBC community.
Today’s workout consisted of the CrossFit warm-up followed by rounds of 21,15,9 of kettlebell swings and wall balls. The gals did a great job especially considering this was their first exposure to these moves. Here are the participants in the pilot Claudia, Shalene and Carrie (I hope I spelled the names correctly):
