Had a fun weekend at CFCV. If you call wall balls, box jumps and snatch progressions fun. We did partner wall balls and box jumps (150 of each) on Saturday and then a few of us worked barbell snatch progressions for an hour and a half on Sunday. The Sunday affair was not planned until Saturday in an impromptu manner.
Jamie finished his foundations sessions today and starts with his first class tomorrow at 6am. Chuck will finish his foundations on Thursday and unfortunately Marcia has dropped the program. It was good to see Cherie back again today.
Today's WOD was Elizabeth. This was a first for most and there was a bunch of scaling going on-which is a good thing. I am very pleased with the improvements everyone has made on the oly lifts. Many are still working on scaled versions but we will get there.
Be advised, just to let you know, the schedule for Thursday is shaky. I have a hearing for my hearing scheduled on that day and am not positive that it will be re-scheduled. As soon as I know more I will post the info. and how it affects the class schedule.
Don't forget about the golf tournament on the 21st at 10:00. Its really not a tournament as much as a get together and go do something. I am not a golfer so if you're not and are on the fence because of it, come join us. Its all about fun and spending time with friends.
Lastly I want to give a shout out to CrossFit HQ. Seems that CFCV isn't on the good guy list for a reason I don't understand. When I was at a level II cert I asked the director of training about the requirements to hold a level I cert here (I had already downloaded the forms and had a plan). I was told that the space requirements (5,000 sq ft.) would not be waived even though we have plenty of outside space. I was then asked where we were located and was told that we were more than an hour to an airport and "amenities" so it just couldn't be done. Well, I guess they moved Yosemite closer to a major airport, have a big ass garage and all the amenities required. Probably one of the things they are going to claim is they have the Marine base involved, but we did too. Needless to say this is one of those things that makes me go hummm….
By the way, if everything goes well, we should have some pretty nice t-shirts by Friday.
