The majority of the station 14 crew of Tracy, Chad and Denny were at station 1 for a Tabata kettlebell workout with Roby and I. Following the CF warmup, we did four rounds of 20 seconds R swings, 20 seconds L swings, 20 second R high pulls, 20 seconds L high pulls, 20 seconds R snatches, 20 seconds L snatches with 10 seconds rest between moves. This was a great combined metcon and strength workout especially for those that used the 20kg bell. Roby stepped up to the 24 after 2 rounds.
Just following the workout, Roby’s friend Ed O’malley, his wife and Amanda stopped in for a short visit. As luck would have it, Ed was a collegiate rower at Johns Hopkins and agreed to show us some tricks on the C-2 ergometer. The personal pointers were appreciated and maybe he’ll come back for some kettlebell pointers.
